About AirEase
HVAC Age / Serial Decoder
Version 1
The first two digits of the serial number are ignored. The second two digits are the year of manufacture. The first letter (fifth character) is the month of manufacture.
This is the current known serial number format.
This would read as being manufactured in May of 2013.
Version 2
The final three characters are used. The third character from the end (E in this case) is the month of manufactured. The second to last character (N) is the year. The final character is ignored.
This format was used between 1978 and 1992.
This would read as being manufactured in May of 1992.
Version 3
The first two digits of the serial number are the production day (10th day), the third character is the month (E = May), and the fourth and fifth characters are the year of production (presented in reverse, so 27 = 72 for 1972).
This is a legacy serial number format.
This would read as being manufactured on the 10th day of May, 1972.
Version 4
The final four characters are what we focus on. The first two are the year of production (04), and the final two are the week of production (11th week). That would make this the 11th week of 2004.
This is a legacy serial number format.
This would read as being manufactured in the 11th week of 2004.
