Current Style
The first letter of the serial number is the factory of origin. The second and third characters are the year, and the fourth and fifth characters are the week of production.
This is the current serial number format.
Example Serial Number

This would read as being manufactured on the 17th week of 2010.
Year is Green, Week is Blue.
Alternate Style #1
The first two digits of the serial number are the week of manufacture (35), followed by the year of manufacture in the third and fourth digits (03).
This is an alternate serial number format.
Example Serial Number

This would read as being manufactured on the 35th week of 2003.
Year is Green, and the week of production is Blue.
